Pineapple is high in antioxidants and vitamin C, both of which are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. The antioxidants in pineapple may help protect cells from damage caused by inflammation. Additionally, the vitamin C in pineapple can help reduce inflammation by blocking the action of molecules that cause inflammation. In addition to its antioxidant and vitamin C content, pineapple also contains bromelain which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. It is thought that bromelain helps reduce inflammation by reducing the production of inflammatory cytokines.
